Most users browse Instagram on their smartphones and if you come across a profile picture, it’s a tiny 50*50 pixel picture in a circle that can’t be clicked or zoomed in. However, the image is still uploaded in the full resolution, Instagram’s API can be used to retrieve the image with a simple command. Don’t worry, we’re not doing any tinkering with code because there are plenty of apps that do this for us. I have three methods that you can use to look up profile pictures on Android, iOS, and Web. Let’s begin.
1. Enlarge Instagram Profile Picture on Desktop
Instagram is made for mobile but you can still access it on any desktop browser. If you wish to look at the profile picture of an account you can certainly do it here as well. I am not going to suggest inspect elements because it can only show you the already compressed image which is around 150px wide. Instead, we’ll use a website instadp.com which can pull up an HD image using the Instagram API. The website works on the web as well as on mobile which is great. To look up the profile picture of a user on Instagram go to instadp.com on a web browser on your computer. After the website loads just enter their Instagram username and press enter and it would pull up all the relevant user accounts. Click on the profile you want and you should see the Profile picture in high definition. Now that you’re on PC, you can also schedule posts and view insights from your desktop easily.
2. How to Enlarge Instagram Profile Picture with InstaProfile
It’s a good thing that the app is available for both Android and iOS, you can just go to the Play Store and the App Store to download the app on your phone. After you’ve installed the app, tap the app icon to run the app.
Read: How to remove Saved Login Info on Instagram You’ll see the app doesn’t have many options, it just shows a text box where you can type the username and look at the profile pictures. To look up a profile just enter the username in the textbox and press enter. You’ll find all the possible results similar to the username you just entered. Tap the one you’re looking for.
You can now see the HD profile picture and clearly make out who they are. If you want you can even download their profile picture by tapping the download button. After you’ve searched a profile, it appears as your search history in the app which you can delete with one touch. Just tap the Delete All button on the bottom of the screen to erase the history. Oh, if the app doesn’t open in dark mode, you can enable the option from the settings. Open Instaprofile> Settings> Toggle ‘ Night Mode’.
3. Use Qeek Enlarge Instagram Profile Picture
Qeek is another similar app to enlarge the Instagram picture on Andriod and iOS. It works just like Instaprofile and you can simply look up a profile by the username and fetch a high-quality Profile picture. Install the app on your Android or iOS device from the Play Store or the App Store respectively. Open the app and type the username in the textbox on the top. The app would load the profile and you can tap the Fullscreen button to view the Profile Picture. To view the Profile Pictures in HD, you would have to buy a one-time in-app purchase of $1.99.

This is one way to see the profile pictures of strangers who might randomly start following you. While you can always ask them who they are, it is much more convenient just to look at their DP. You can use any app available on the Play Store or the App Store to grab the profile picture. Instaprofile can only pull up the profile pictures of the users with the help of Instagram’s own API.
